ƒricking awesome!!!!

Although I am getting too old to party for so many days. By Sunday night (when all the good music is concentrated into a consecutive stream) I was exhausted and Dewey and I passed out in our hammocks and missed Benga and Bassnectar.

Highlights -

Glitchy + Scratchy opening the Village stage. Tons of people just DYING to get into the Ewok forts and party, there was a great crowd, and I really had fun singing a little bit (and hearing some of my tunes on a kick ass soundsystem!)

Mr. Rogers was really ill. Everyone else was busy pounding heads to Excision (no disrespect, I'm sure he was dope, but I've seen him before and wanted to see something new) so we went down to the beach and kicked it to some fresh glitch hop. The fact that I'd never heard ANY of it before was the best part. Was more into the first half of his set, as the second was more on the uptempo breaks side, but the whole thing was quality. We gave him a shirt and he admitted to being a lurker on here.. come out and post! :)

Eprom was frickin' awesomesauce. Hopefully you'll see him rockin' his brand new GHF shirt soon!! Played some really good glitchy biz, a lot of which i haven't heard before. The Village and the Living Room (beach stage) were the best stages going on.

Heyoka on Sunday afternoon on the beach was amazing!! So many good people, nice weather, just chilling and dancing. And Subswara right after was great too.

Subvert was probably sweet but I was in the middle of passing out from exhaustion in my hammock (sorry Jer!! You rock though!! You made my whole weekend super super awesome!)

And Ill Gates, had a few technical issues but once things got going was solid as hell. Lots of delicious basslines.

I closed the whole weekend checking out Anahata Sound on the beach - what a lovely fairy she is, original beats with breathy, Bjork-like vocals.

Hanging out with Plus 2 was... a plus!!! Super awesome friendliness. and big thanks to Neighbour and the Home Breakin records crew for supporting GHF and selling our tshirts and CDs at our booth.

Amazing.

Unfortunately, I missed Glitchy & Scratchy's set in the village... but heard it was amazing. Eprom KILLED it in the village along with Bassnectar, Excision and Spor.

Met some awesome people as well, Shawn (Shaun? Sean?), Lindsey (Lindsay?), ill-esha, Adrian. This is Mike... the guy that sat awkwardly silent in your campsite after I met you guys on stage and we smoked a joint on the beach.... thanks for that.

Tons of other things I could say about this years festival... but it just doesn't do it justice. Gotta say out of the 3 years that I have attended this was definitely my favourite by far!

Best of luck with the new project Shaun and Lindsey!

Eprom was the heaviest most devastating and psychedelic force imaginable i have to say, EVER
and Heyoka into Subwara with Juakali was also the most incredible mind-expanding-ly tripped out bass orgasm
MASSIVE Props to these dj's for weaving intense energy flows.
I missed ill.gates but heard it was way sick, bassnectar was way too packed,
oh and special mention goes to the dripping beautiful pineal-tickling beatboxing, vocalisms and silliness going down on the beach stage early monday morning courtesy of Kyrian, Anahata sound, Lynx, and Gemma , so touching. to everybody that was at shambhala in presence or spirit, love you and bless for the magic

7 years and this one was easily the best. great beats, great stages, GREAT SOUND and most importantly, the greatest people.
Highlights:
Ewun
Spor
Eprom
Ill.Gates
As always, Bassnectar
Subvert
Shamik
N-Type

I'd like to throw a MASSIVE hands up to Subvert for making this magic happen. PK is the best thing to happen to the scene since Shambhala itself. The sound was unrivaled by anything I have ever heard. Even Fractal Forest and the Living Room were well done. But lets face it, it's all about the Village.

Oh yeah, I forgot about this thread. I wrote my first blog post ever on it. You can take a look. All the videos were taken by other people, I just wanted to have them in there to show what was going on.

EDIT: Forgot the link - http://wond3r.wordpress.com/2009/09/09/ ... e-village/
