In 2004 MRK1, Plastician and Slaughter Mob released an album called "Grime" on Aphex Twins label Rephlex Records. This was one of the key releases that propelled the dubstep/grime sound into media for the first time.
BOOM KAT REVIEW June 2004
"Call it Grime, Sublow, Dubstep, Dirty Garage, call it whatever you want, this is the sound of a new school of Urban producers grabbing the electronic music scene by the balls and generously launching it into the filthiest environment "dance music" has ever witnessed. This hugely hyped and anticipated new compilation from Rephlex centres on the work of three of the UK's most on-it grimey producers : Mark One, Plasticman, and the Slaughter Mob." MRK1 has also released two full-length albums on Planet Mu, "One Way" and "Copyright Law", and produced The Virus Syndicate's last two albums also on Planet Mu selling over 50,000 copies, "The Work Related Illness" and "Sick Pay". MRK1's record label, Contagious, has had over 25 releases from both himself and from the likes of Skream, Plastician, Chimpo, Sizzla, Jack Sparrow, Virus Syndicate and Oris Jay.
Contagious is an international record label that has gained recognition across the world from both the buying public and the media. MRK1 has appeared on BBC Radio 1, BBC 1 Extra, BBC Asian Network, Kiss, Galaxy radio stations in the UK and has hosted 1xtra Mix show with his group Virus Syndicate.
MRK1 has also produced tracks for the BBC's documentary "Panarama", and also "Undercover Millionaire". MRK1 has traveled the world as a DJ and played at some of the biggest festivals in the world, including Glastonbury (UK), Ros Kilde (Denmark), Wilsonic (Solvenia), 10 Days Off (Gent), Sonar (Barcelona), Glade (UK), Cream (UK) etc. MRK1 is also in a group called Virus Syndicate and has seen success on MTV with a track called "Slow Down" that reached number 8 in the Video Charts.

Débruit - Civil Music, Musique Large - France - debruit.com
Glitch Hop Forum

Parisian Synth Magician dÉbruit joins the Civil Music stable along side Reso, Rusko, Kotchy, Drums of Death and Starkey. dÉbruit has pedigree. 2 sensational EPs Coupe Décale and most recently Cle De Bras on his and his hommies Parisian label Musique Large.
[ Musique Large is dÉbruit, Fulgeance (One Handed Music), Rekick & Ghilsian Poirier (Ninja Tune) ]
When Boomkat made the sell-out Cle De Bras their Record of the week they described his sound as a “no holds barred assault through dark Congolese sound systems, downtown L.A. block parties gone wrong, haze filled Kingston recording studios and freaky Tunisian backstreet souks; all powered by a fat hip hop engine…. the heaviest wonky fusions we’ve heard this year”.
Clark, DE:Bug and most of the French press had him pegged as one to watch and XLR8R picked 2 of his tracks in their top 50 of 2008, and recently noted he was their their most downloaded artist with 4 out of the top 10 tracks featuring his trademark synths. dÉbruit pushes the boundaries with new technique and analogue vibes causing West Coast originator Kutmah to enquire “ how’d you get yours shit so clean and loud”.
In a Congolese basement bar down a Paris side-street is where you’ll normally find dÉbruit dropping beats but after his trip to Red Bull’s academy in Barcelona last summer he’s been on the body poppin’ all over Europe and the UK. Along with Hip-House alter ego KeeCLAC he’s been remixing Architeq, Kotchy, Meanest Man Contest and Fischerspooner.
With excitement building for the Let’s Post Funk Release (which has been a highly guarded secret until now) and with Daedelus’ firm seal of approval stamped on March 09’s Low flying sell-out Cle De Bras, this summer is looking heavyweight for dÉbruit (Real name Xavier Thomas). Parties with Joker, Mike Slott, Jackson, Nake Fake, Robert Hood, Buliion, Paul White and Floating Points in the UK, a crazy set of European dates including the main stage at Sonar and culminating in a final hoorah opening for Afrika Bambaataa at home in Paris’ Infamous Social Club. And before the summer’s out he’ll also have swum the channel leaving Paris behind to set up camp in to concentrate on his as yet untitled album due early 2010 on Civil Music.
As a first taste of that album Let’s Post Funk is undoubtedly pretty special. dÉbruit’s heavy wonky synth lead madness funks out on the West Coast with guest vocals from Om’Mas Keith, Jamie Woon, Cerebral Vortex and Buddy Leezle (AKA 215TFK) & Stray. dÉbruit just keeps getting better, and On Lets Post Funk he’s stepped up his production yet again and showcases his freewheelin synthlines, looping and wobbling perfectly. Angular beats chop and wild bass and west coast vibes spill everywhere. dÉbruits sound is unmistakabley French but combined with LA 80’s B-Boy.

"Firedancing is an ancient warrior art. The mythical Fyregod "ZOR" is leader of a revered lineage of eternal warrior gods who fight for the sovereignty of the galaxy Zorion. Those of fire mastery perform the sacred dance on the eve of battle. Spinning glorious circles of light, these lords of the flame dance and burn away the demons that would haunt and daunt their path to freedom. Specifically, those of fear, jealousy, doubt, guilt and resignation.
So, in the sacred space of this martial dance, I invoke the Fyregod ZOR to train, purify and free the body, mind and spirit. May you be awed, inspired and entertained. !SCHWA-HA!"..
