Formed in 2007, the San Francisco duo BLACKHEART is comprised of Julian “Bad/Media” and Geoff “Fresh Young Minds,” both California and Bay Area natives. Originally brought together by Drum and Bass in 1999, they have forged a unique vision of dubstep filtered through the classic coastal break sound and the West Coast’s Hip Hop & sound system culture. As Blackheart, the two have given notice that they are not to be trifled with, destroying packed houses from San Francisco to Detroit. The duo already has a discography that spans an handful of some of the US’s most prized labels, including Full Melt, Bassism, Filthy Digital, Brap Dem! and Savory Audio, and have remixed everybody from Downlink to DJG. With dubplate support from Megalodon, Antiserum, and other hard hitters, Blackheart is one to watch in 2011.
