it's not tip top yet, and that would be my first recording, but i've been working on the flow of the piece for years and think i've got something worth laying out right.

i like the lyrics, but i think the flow needs to step out of the beat a bit, theyre matched but they appear to be clashing.

its like wearing colours that clash you know?

as in the lyrics and the music are both competeing for centre stage, which is normal for lyrics and since bonobo's stuff is an intricate instrumental, the beat is trying to do the same. even if mixed down i think the listener's attention would be in a tug of war between words and beats.

have a listen to your favourite mc's that might have put out a similar track, lyrics and flow wise and i think you'll find the beat to be pretty basic or repetitive, not necessarily a bad thing, you know so the attention is on the lyrics. maybe thats why you've been working on it for so long as you said?

I would look for a less complex track perhaps,... ov, nothing is coming to mind right now,.... umm maybe check out dj krush's stepping stones, you know the one with the mc's on it.

or aesop rock, intricate lyrics but spartan yet effective beats.

the plan from here is to record the lyrics to my ideal flow, and find producers that want to remix it.
really appreciate the insight, I used Days To Come because I know it and the duration works well with the piece.

ahh fair enough then, i thought you were going to lay the vocals over the bonobo piece.

glitch certainly needs mc's and vocalists to take it beyond remixing popular acapellas i reckon. i think big things can be done if we get a nice amount of original lyricists and vocalists dedicated to the sound.
