Just got a macbook pro and it has the Firewire 800 port. I need to get a new cable to connect my firebox and i am wondering what y'all are using for this.

I want to make sure the connection stays solid, so my audio doesn't cut out.

Cable or Adapter?

adapter

Are certain manufacturers better than others? Belkin?

Lotus just got a new MB Pro and she got a cable for the exact same FireBox. Technically it is referred to as an IEEE 1394 9-Pin to 6-Pin cable. 6' length is pretty good for most music purposes. Don't go paying Apple Store prices for it.

Hey sorry to go some what OT...

But can you guys run the Firebox through bus power on the MBP or do you still have to jack in somewhere.

Thanks

I bought the cable and it works fine, no other changes in setup required.

Yeah...i don't understand why apple eliminated the firewire port on macbooks. I pretty much bought a pro for that reason.

BTW...ordered the cable...seems simplier
