Yeah, that shit is dirty, I love it.

So many DnB intros I love... but then when it drops it's too brutal.

Haha, just got the SiD sounds.

one of my current favs - intro is great for building the tempo up out of dubstep

Mmm.

I made a tune about 2-3 years ago that started out as dnb, but ended up being halfstep the entire way through. I suppose you could say it's half-step dnb - the original intent of the tune afterall, was dnb

tune is called "my love" - it's up on my last.fm page. http://freedownloads.last.fm/download/2 ... 2BLove.mp3

Gansta Step HAHA  ...ahum

Well (excuse me for cutting short) there was the amen, then HipHop and Jungle,
then some shit and still HipHip,
then DnB and still bad HipHop,
then Dubstep and still awfull HipHop,
and now they cut dnb back to half.... which basically still is hiphop with the goodness (bass) of dnb and dubstep.

But the examples above, to me, sound a bit too agressive.
(alltho I play a lot of hard 2004-2007 dnb in sets)

---

If you ask me: this is dnb in half tempo and MOST BEAUTIFULL.. I'm eagerly waiting to buy this track :D
(maybe not "drumstep")

---

my 99 cents

i was listening to some halfstep/drumstep whatever yesterday. it's weird because it sounds so normal and yet i keep wanting it to go faster or slower as im listening to it. like, it sounds normal and akward at the same time... and it hints at quickness and slowness at the same time, imo. lol.

nothing beats Cincinatti 2-step though. :teef:

There's a couple of great threads on DOA about halfstep. Here's one: http://www.dogsonacid.com/showthread.ph ... genumber=1

I'm putting the finishing touches on my new "Combat" singles which are 165-170 bpm halfstep(ish) killers!

Amit is a don.

Loving the resurgence of this stuff, just did a mix thats mostly halfstep stuff, will probably be one of my Supernormo.us podcasts pretty soon (maybe 003).

The halfstep 'jump-up' dnb that most seem to be calling Drumstep is horrible for the same reasons it was horrible when it was at full speed. Grating noises in a sequential pattern does not make a tune.

The really well done stuff is amazing though, new life for the genre, the first real innovation in dnb in years. Theres one on the tip of my tongue that I cannot think of the name of for the life of me that is my current favorite...

I have been enjoying 'The halfstep 'jump-up' dnb that most seem to be calling Drumstep' lately.. I find the lighter more atmospheric stuff boring for the most part..

I guess every sub sub sub genre has it's own gems and turds though..

wow, every single one of those tunes was just horrid.

drumstep has POTENTIAL, but it's turning 90BPM into dick-in-your-ear territory real fast.

*weeps

;)

that's it, i'm going back to 110BPM!!!
