I downloaded The Sauce by PantyRaid and it was the best thing since fried rice....no, its even better than fried rice

Now I did my homework and I made sure I listen to all my music with some great Sennheiser studio headphones.

What artists are similar to PantyRaid because I listened to some of the Glitch Hop on the "New to Glitch Hop" thread and I didn't like it, some of it was too heavy for my tastes

..well, might try Tipper, or Freddy Todd, or Opiou... An-Ten-Nae's acid crunk stuff is some of my favorite..

another thing you could try ( i know this isn't scientific, but it HAS worked for me sometimes lol) is youtube surf.. search for songs from the Sauce by PantyRaid and see what's 'recommended' on the side of the page.. might find an artist ya like...

if ya want some more hip hoppy mellow stuff, i love Mike Slott's music, or Dimlite..

Create a pandora station off the album and see what you like on it. Unfortunately there isn't much with that same 'sauce' magic (that ive found at least) but there are definitely some great artists doing similar things out there. Glitch hop is a crazily varied genre, it goes from one end of the board to the other then way off into outer space. Happy hunting

yea i would agree.. its almost like its... ahh.. what would the phrase be?... i mean it can and does span all different sorts of music, adding it's glitchy touch to whatever... its almost like a genre of sound manipulation as much as it is just a genre of music.. or is that over-analyzing it too much? cuz im great at over-analyzing music!

i mean.. you can glitch out hip hop, house/techno/rave, you can glitch out rock, shit, any kind of world music, you could even glitch out country, though i haven't seen it yet..

( just wait for glitch to really take hold in the bible belt.. we'll all start bitching about Christian Glitch Hop w/ a strong Twang..

Though, being that you're new to glitch hop, the natural lead should be to check some of Ooah and the Glitch Mob's solo stuff from circa 2007-09 when Ooah and Marty were working on The Sauce. Be sure to download edIT's 'Certified Air Raid Material' and 'Crying Over Pros for No Reason', Kraddy's 'Android Porn', Boreta's 'Bubblin in the Cut', Marty Party's solo work, etc. All of MiHKAL's mixes have a very inspired ethereal yet crunky as hell vibe that's very PantyRaid-esque. I would also check out Jantsen's old stuff from the same time (06-09) that is sadly difficult to find now: reworks of D.I.M.'s 'Is You', Chingy's 'Right Thurr', 'Shoulder Lean', Si Begg vs VA Crunk, etc. Not a perfect parallel, but Pretty Lights often marries that soulful IDM sound with a crunky drive.

I'll second StrangeFlow's recommendation of An-ten-nae. Left Coast Stomp was an anthem around the time The Sauce was released:
