Her voice on that show turns me right on!

Good question. I never used to listen to it much, wish I did more often now though >.<

She was always on point with new tunes and sounds. Should be interesting to follow this!

WOOOOOOOOOOOT WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT :?: :?: :?:

Tell me, this is not true, please! Her role in bringing bass music and experimental electronica to the masses is absolutely unique and unrivaled. Since 2006 I have listened to 80% of her shows - I haven't heard a weak one.
Fuck, I hope she will continue somewhere.

sad to see her off BBC :(
For a while I thought she may grow to leave a sort of Annie Nightingale legacy with the BBC.
I played before and after her a few times and got to hang out at a festival and some club nights last year, she was hugely receptive of the the whole 'Glitch Hop' sound, one of the first people in mainstream media in the UK to embrace it.
(I will add that Annie Nightingale did play some of our slower west coast shizzle back in 2002 & 2003 and hosted some US 'Glitch talent')

Hopefully they keep the experimental show alive.

This is what she says she'll be doing (taken from her Myspace):
I have also accepted a new job mentoring and teaching students at the University of Sheffield’s Union Of Students radio station, TV station and the newspaper that operate out of their superb Forge Media Hub, which presents me with a really exciting new challenge.

My last show on BBC Radio1 will be broadcast:
September 8th>>9th … Wednesday night >> Thursday morning… 2-4am

Hmmm Yes, it might be a while til there's someone that open and receptive in the mainstream media to alternative electronic music.

She was one in a million for sure, it makes me think of how generally NOT open most radio stations are to electronic music of all varieties, and this in turn hides a lot of our craft as DJs & producers from positive mass perception, and we are often relegated to LESS positive media perceptions as a drug fuelled subculture. :?

However, one might say that her main strength was that she was a glorified fan when it comes down to it. That's rather cynical of me to say though, I suppose, as many of us could say the same thing who are involved in pursuits we love. This fusion is what keeps music running when it comes down to it and she was super ampped all the time to lend some positive energy.

Am looking forward to some form of mass electronic music evangelist coming out in the future to help promote "our world". Surely there's already a fair few around out there asides from Mary Anne Hobbs who are waving the glitchy banner? Maybe it's a good idea to try finding and supporting other broadcasters you love now.
