Just wondering if anyone has one of these beauties? If so do you use it in any live set ups?

I really would like to get my hands on one, theyre somewhat hard to find so I kind of considered making one as well. I use Ableton to DJ and thought a keytar would be a rowdy good time at shows

i have an AX7 and i absolutely adore it. i use it with an M-Audio Midair wireless MIDI interace and i can't recommend one enough.

that being said, i recommend not over-paying for one. muthafuckas be tryin to sell them for way too much cause they got dat vintage appeal. unless it's a working Moog Liberation, you shoouldn't pay more than two fifty to three hundred USD for ANY keytar. (picked mine up for a cool one fifty in excellent condition off craigslist. the deals are out there you just gotta be patient and know how to haggle a little.)

i haven't gigged with it yeat, but i got it all set up for me next set of live shows. you get used to the feel of playing one pretty quick. i plan on using it to trigger chords on my harmonizer and to play the carrier on the ole vocoder. basically, control all my vocal FX. i'm sure the nerdy gals will go crazy for it. ;)

funny you mention Abelton and keytars, as i planned on making an APC-tar out of and APC40 and some molded plastic, but i figured i'd just fuck it up. maybe someone craftier than me could give it a whirl. :chin:

tl;dr: get a keytar, they're awesome.

Yes synthaxe mmmmm delicious Ztar BOOM.

If you are crafty you could even make your own keytar out of an old keyboard and attach a neck onto which you could have various pedals and effects... could be a cool project
