i'm currently doing something similar (that was inspired by this video a few weeks ago) with sampling instead of scratching.

this guy had to build this custom rig because with scratching both of your hands are tied up. one on the crossfader and one on the record. that means you have no way to control pitch (unless you build this custom rig, do foot pedals or have a third arm). what's nice about triggering samples (midi-based cue point juggling) is it only takes 1 hand to do. so i've been using one hand to juggle cue points and the free hand to slide pitch +/- 12 with keylock off to twist those samples into new notes. neat stuff. :-D

Wow super cool! You think it's midi? Or a post-process in the mixer? I've never seen the Vestax Controller One before, but it looks like this thing cross fader setup might be controlling it, so you would need to have both i guess?
