A bike that has no brakes, on which you can't cost.

Hmmm... I'll go with a bike with gears thanks.

^^^ Um both those bikes have gears, and brakes. But I know what you're getting at, i'm just playin.

I've got about 8 bikes. I like bikes. I like bikes A LOT. Each bike is a unique ride, and serve different purposes, sometimes it's fun to ride a fixed gear, sometimes its nice to take a spin down the sea wall on an old cruiser with coaster brakes. Or perhaps if one is touring, it is nice to have lots of different gears, better on the knees, especially in very hilly areas.

Here's my fixed gear bikes:

I posted my old fixed gear on here a while back... I call her 8-bit:

I've got a specialized langster now, gotta say i love the weight of aluminum bikes over steel bikes.
Don't have my own picture, but this is what it looks like:
Glitch Hop Forum
I hate the paint job, but i got it for $16.73 (all the money i had in my pockets) from some crackhead in front of my house. I spent the next few weeks making craigslist posts and bike forum posts trying to find the original owner, but nobody ever responded. At the time i bought it, it had two flats, and the chain was completely rusted, as if someone had left it in their backyard for two years and completely forgotten about it. So perhaps the owner doesn't miss it all that much.

Word. I need to take some pictures still! I wish I would have taken some before I did the swap; it's an early 80s Centurion road bike, all steel, it was so fuckin heavy with the old group set! LOL.

Damn I wish bikes weren't so expensive.

I need one since I lost my license (again). I been riding my homie's Haro, but I cant stand riding a bike that feels like it was built for an eight year old.

What's the deal with fixies? Why are they so popular? Over here it seems like all the kids that ride them would have been the kids on skateboards when I was their age, weird how things change.

Fixed gear is just really fun to ride. You should try it, it's a whole different feeling. If you want to get one cheap, get a Mercier Kilo.

I don't have pics of the ones I used to ride, but I will agree with eprom they are really fun to ride! Went on a Crank Mob ride in LA last summer, that ish was madness.

Generic pic, but I got mine brand new for about $600 shipped...they were selling for a G in boutique shops. Fun ride, but I had to swap out the stock seat, that thing was brutal.

heh, if there is only 3 out there it is useless, because it would be a crime to actually ride it once you built the bike.

What do you guys think about Aerospokes? I have yet to ride a bike that has them equipped so I honestly know nothing about them.

I haven't ridden them, but everyone I ride with calls them Aerojokes. For the price, you can get some great hubs (Phil, Dura Ace, Miche) and lace em up to some great rims (Mavic Open Pro, IMD, Campy, Araya) and get them built by hand at a local shop.

I could see that being true man. It seems like the only time i see the Aerospokes(jokes) its on some hipsters bike and that person is the coolest on the planet.

I didn't realise there were levels of hipster to fixie riders.

There are people that like a challenge/change in the normal...then there are people that just want to be cool!

I was riding a fixie for a minute for the thrill of not having a break or gears to shift through...and to get off of my beach cruiser that can't go uphill to save its life.
