Voted! Nice to hear some pretty interesting results from everyone. I think the first time I voted for track 1, but since it's not available anymore, I moved down the line...

Can't wait for the next contest- I'd prefer the winner pick what song to remix instead of a sample kit, as I make all my own sounds, don't really rely on sample sets. (Espescially for drums!) I think also what needs to be dope is maybe a secondary banner on the website or even easier is a mass PM to all the members to vote in the competition... Plz keep me posted!

I have an idea on how encourage people to vote, but i won't have any time to work on the construction of it till monday at least, so lets leave the poll open a bit longer for now.

Plus, maybe it would be better to upload all the tracks to a single soundcloud username, like GHF-Contest, and then use some sort of multi track player like this: http://soundcloud.stimuli.tv/ or similar.

Probably a good idea to implement this next time, although I wouldn't start messing with it now given that the order they're in order and everything and they've already been wiped once.

Can we please end this comp sometime soon, I really want to take this remix off my soundcloud given that it was a rush job that I did in a few hours.

I'm happy to conceed first place to FisherPrice/WillyWomper given that I think his remix is better than mine and he organised the whole thing on top of that which deserves added kudos.

Unless of course Dewey is feeling especially generous and wants to send out 2 Tshirts... :p

I think it would be a good idea to do what Dewey said, maybe with the top tracks of this contest (top5 maybe) or maybe just wait for the next one to do that

Weren't submissions finished Jan 31st? Or two weeks later than that or something? This has been going on for months!

I have traveled through 8 countries since submitting my mix, and voting hasn't closed yet!

Plus, 23 votes is pretty bad, given that the "Is your DAW legitimate?" poll has double that... but I guess people probs don't have the time to listen to a heap of remixes.

Some thoughts about this remix competition and perhaps some advice for the next. It seems that we received an underwhelming response in terms of people who voted for the tracks. I belive that there are two main reasons for this.

The first is that there are far to many finalists. There should be an initial panel board, which reviews and reduces the total finalists to a maximum of 3. I myself even took a very long time to vote on this because i never seemed to have a free 45 minutes to listen to all 9 of these tracks back and forth back and forth until i could decide on the appropriate favorite.

The second is that the artists & fans involved need to be playing a larger role in getting their friends & family involved. I mean, if I had a tune up in there i would make every one of my friends on the face of the planet sign in and vote for me. I did not notice this happening at all. Perhaps you are all far to honest? I guess this is also my fault in part, because i didn't make the prizes big enough for someone to make such a commitment to encourage voters.

The next remix competition will be slightly more organized than this one and will have larger prizes as well. I would like to thank all the participants of this competition to date, and at this time i will be closing the poll as it seems we have not received many new votes in the last few weeks, and i somehow doubt this will change in the next few weeks. Plus i am leaving to travel Europe soon, and if i don't do this now, the winner will not get their shirt until i return from my travels in June.

If you are interested in being part of the organizing committee or a judge for the next remix competition please pm me. If you have any valuable belongings to offer up as prizes for the next remix competition please let me know as well.

yeah, I agree. Specially with involving friends and having them listening to the track. I had them listening to my track in soundcloud through facebook, but I never encouraged them to vote here.
