You have to be willing to be poor to live here though, lol. Some people find it hard to get jobs.
We are in the mountains with a population of about 80,000 and a fuckton of artists and a fuuuuckton of events - totally oversaturated, which is more awesome than not of course...but makes it tough and a totally different economic system for throwing parties here than other cities...

2) Asheville is pretty fuckin rad. I have very little experience with the music scene, but I have visited 10 times or so over the past 15 years. I used to go to a summer camp on Lake Summit (near Hendersonville, NC) for 6.5 weeks every year. My parents would come to visit, and we would go eat in Asheville, usually at the Laughing Seed (dope veggie food). Now I stop by every year on the way to and from Transformus, the Southeast regional burn. Every time has been great. Good food, cool city, nice people, and beautiful mountains. I'm still not leaving Richmond though

I discovered Asheville as a kid when we used to come to the Black Mountain Festival (now LEAF) then kicked it here a bunch traveling around the country as a teen then decided it was my fav place from coast to coast and settled here...

Moogfest is cool but ROGUEFEST is where it's at! Haha. Moogfest is put on by AC Entertainment who does Bonnoroo, only $1 of each tik goes to moog and AC doesn't book any locals (like the Super freakin Glitch BROS!) even though they are taking over our entire city...so roguefest, yeah. That's where the Super Glitch Bros were playing above.

Lol. I think their ears were fine. They were behind the PA and opening the night so it wasn't cranked up yet. You can even hear people talking. We only had 1 monitor turned on at that point and it was across the stage, not the one near them on their side. They actually kept complaining that it wasn't loud enough. Hahaha.
I'd be more concerned for their ears when they're listening to their ipods.
