I'm sorry if it seemed like I was taking sides. I guess I should have modded other comments in the thread as well, but i have a full time job, and it isn't moderating fights on this forum.

I had just posted an SEO experiment I have been working on for the past 6 months above and I was actually hoping to see some insightful on topic replies, but instead the thread got highjacked with childish banter and completely derailed into an unrelated direction.

Not that I should have to tell you this, but you violated a bunch of rules when you decided to slander other board members. It is behavior like this that discourages some of the other members from coming back to the board.

The irony of all this is that the thread was originally about not seeing as many posts lately.

dewey, as far as your seo experiment goes.. (and to be honest, i had no idea what SEO experiment meant until i looked it up and read an article about it yesterday lol) ya got any more info about this tho? like, how did you get that site in the ranking? is it cuz there's a link in the first post you made on the thread? is it cuz the phrase "witch house" is mentioned continuously throughout the post? is it just that there aren't a ton of witch house sites, so a topic on here ranked fairly well?

i rembmer the thread on like.. wonky purple, or something like that, (might've been some variation on that phrase, it was a couple months ago) and then later i was on google and just curious what i could find about "wonky purple" and the wonky purple thread on GHF came up. and i was like, "well damnit, if i wanted that, i woulda just stayed on ghf in the first place that day" lol

and also,

i agree that BASS music FORUM . COM might be dope. :evilking:

would it be a start over? bringing some of the original threads along, or would it just be a domain change, but everything would be the exact same? eh? or is that just in the theoretical stage and you actually hate the idea dewey? lol.

I think it would be great if bassforum was all about fishing, and we could just bring our discussions over there... Just run the fishermen outta the joint..

I think I made some of my first post here in 2009, its this non stop bullshit, over posting by people with little or no creditability or accountability to the stuff they post on here. GRRR

The DUBS section is currently OVER SATURATED with music that is LESS than playable, let alone worth commenting on.

STEP IT UP PEOPLE!!!

it seems like the best way to get people to post is to say they aren't posting.

i think this is the only outlet for a lot of people, and they just want to share what they've created with like-minded people. FOR FREE. and different people have different tastes. maybe some people like what you don't consider playable.
just my two cents.

btw, everyone should post more about witch house until GHF is the top result...

Arrrgh! Its all about seapunk now I tells ya!

Nicely with the SEO there dewey. "Why the fuck" on any internet genre search first page is surely the way to go.

(seapunks another made it silly non genre, but has spawned some rather lovely oldskool ravey vibes with tunes like this:http://media.xlr8r.com/files/downloads/mp3s/Tru%20Luv.mp3. give it a go)

just reading through... i miss this forum :) GHF is whats up, i should try to visit more regularly.

Anyway, i wanted to say that perhaps a way that this site could 1) generate more hits/users/discussions and 2) make the dubs section a more "playable" selection, would be to emulate the success of sites like dubstep.net, theuntz.com, and others where artists/labels can arrange a free download feature with the sites mods. A lot of sites get mad traffic due to their reputation for having good tunes for download, and GHF has been one of them, but perhaps a more moderated and highlighted version of the dubs/previews section could get this place buzzing again.

to be fair i haven't really been paying much attention to the dubs section. but its always been a mixed bag. I don't necessarily think they should do away with that section. I know i've put up a few less then polished cuts in my day and its great that GHF provides a place for everyone to share. I just think a highlighted "GHF Featured Dubs" section could help generate traffic and would be beneficial to site.

Never seen anyone act that way when being encouraged. But hey, I also asked Mochipet while we were burning "Hey wait, wernt you just on stage with some shit on your head?" He laughed said "yea" and we kept on talking. Real cool dude. He could have taken it totally wrong like the first person did. Generally I think a lot of people on the forum share her attitude. This place lifted up some badass aspiring artists and it served their purpose and now its not of as much use.

Wow, what an incredibly passive aggressive way to state your beef with me. Why didn't you just start a thread with my name, or maybe a webpage about what a horrible person I am? It would be a lot more direct and to the point instead of telling a blatantly un-anonymous story about the only female moderator of a website that you're on. Whatever. Since you choose to post this in a public forum I'll choose to respond. And no, I'm not going to mod you, thanks for the vote of confidence Angryrancor. Yes, I did mod someone who posted some incredibly cliched disrespect once that had a lot to do with the negative gender-specific energy it contained. If you have personal vitriol with me like that, I'm not going to censor you. I'm sure it's your favorite story to tell your friends, and I also know that I've gasp, been human and fucked up a few of these split second interactions with people that I don't know (of which there are many, since I"m a performer) and been pretty harshly judged for it, as others have that I know.

The other day there was a girl who was reaching for me over the decks at the end of the night saying she was a huge fan and please, couldn't she get a picture. I said sure, give me five minutes to pack up my gear. As it turned out I was missing a couple of things, I then had to have an important conversation with the promoter and I ended up being an extra five minutes - I came out front and she was gone. I'm sure she left with a bitter story about how I was too stuck up to take a photo with her.

It's really super easy to judge people you don't know based on one minute.

So do you really want to go back to Vaikhari? Because let me at least fill in the gaps to all these other people who are now involved in this lovely conversation that you felt it was necessary to have.

That party was a huge, massive, fucking drug fest. I've never seen so many people smoking homemade DMT, hell, I'd never even seen homemade DMT at that point, or so many little metal nitrous capsules all over the ground. Or not been able to hear anything because of the rushing of the tanks, etc etc etc. And everything was haywire.

I had been waiting all night to play my set and RIGHT before I was supposed to go on (After Virtual Boy, and I had planned a special set just for that time) I was suddenly told that Quade decided they felt like driving back to LA ASAP and so they were going to bump me two hours ahead to 5 am.

Everyone around me was fucked up. By the time my set came around I was incredibly tired because guess what, I am usually the sober person at the festival, especially when I'm working. I was also pretty pissed off for being bumped at the last minute, as at this point it was 4:55 am instead of 2:55 my audience had dwindled to about thirty people who were all completely retarded off their ass on nitrous. I have photos of people with bare asses as their pants fall off and they are just so fucked up they don't care. So yeah, I was sober, cranky, on the verge of tears, and probably someone telling me "good luck" at that moment was not appreciated. And I am sorry for that. You can tell your ex girlfriend I am terribly sorry, and I mean it, for making her feel unappreciated.

It just really bothers me, if it was your friend, or anyone you had more than one experience of, you would chalk it up to them being tired or cranky. Or at the very least, you might bring it up and ask what was up. But because you don't know me, now I'm forever an asshole.

My last crumb of food for thought is.. I can be a pretty awkward and antisocial person at the best of times with people i don't know. And guess what, a lot of nerdy people who are into playing with computers for hours to create music, ARE NOT SUPER SOCIALLY GIFTED PEOPLE. I have had to learn the hard way how to be more perceptive of people's body language and subtle cues, or even just how to filter myself appropriately for a situation. The funny thing about this whole electronic culture is that now that the focus has shifted from DJs to producers, the biggest nerds ever who were content not to leave their basement are kind of forced to go on stage and go out and schmooze, network, all those things. I suck at those things, and so do many of the nerdiest, most talented people I know. And that's why a lot of the time you'll find fantastic music that gets no publicity, fantastic artists that get no gigs.

I feel like if I was awkward and shitty on stage people might understand, if I stared intently into my computer screen as if I was checking email, if I didn't move at all when music was playing - - perhaps then people would see me as the nerdy weird awkward person I am. Unfortunately for my reputation, I'm super good at appearing comfortable on stage. So.. sorry. For everything.

Going back into my cave now.
Enjoy your day.

I know it doesn't matter at all since I don't actually know you irl... but I only said it would get modded because the post was against the rules of this board... Not because I thought you were lacking in any sort of ability to handle criticism.

Personally I have a few friends who are female performers, and I see the bullshit they have to endure, and the bullshit you endure over the internet, and I have nothing but respect and awe that you have the balls to do what you do. Honestly ill-esha for that reason in my opinion you pretty much can do no wrong, I feel like I am your devoted fanboy, and I would never post anything intentionally disrespectful or negative about you or your music and I am sorry if it was perceived that way.

I think ill-esha is a pretty cool glitch hop artist. She makes the best glitch hop and doesn’t afraid of anything. (Ok enough 4chan memes...)
