Post subject: Tracks w/ Built-In Tempo Changes
PostPosted: Tue Mar 09, 2010 2:34 pm
Konekta's post on Kitchen Sync got me thinking. I change tempos a lot during my sets and there have been some great discussions on here that have helped me acheive this. One trick that has been discussed in those threads is using tracks with built-in tempo changes. The trick has been finding them. I have a handful at the moment and I think it'd be great if everyone shared theirs. :-D

Here's a few to open up with:

16 bit - Chainsaw Calligraphy (Propatingz Crunk Massacre Remix). ~95 to ~70 and back to ~95.

Two Fingers - Sway (Spor Remix). ~140 to ~174

Camo & Krooked - Dakota. ~174 to ~140 and back to ~174

Slugabed - Slugabed Sez. ~95 to ~70 and back to ~95

Saint VII - Jack n' Sally n' Jill - ~90 to ~70

The only one I can think of off the top that hasn't been mentioned is a breakbeat tune..

Freestylers-Punks Krafty Kuts Remix

135-95-135 I believe..

I'll go through the library when I am on my laptop next time..

Akira Kiteshi - No Glitch... forget exactly what it is, but its 140 > 85 or 90ish

Freestylers Ft Pendulum - Painkiller... depends on the version, theres a breaks version that drops into hip hop and a dnb version that drops into breaks

I made a few like this too...

I love these type of tunes , in particular the ones that dont go back to the original tempo.

yes! only really helpful if it can help you change genre/tempo other wise its just a break down at a different tempo imo

Akira Kiteshi - BOOM + POW is the one I generally abuse, but my new trick is reprogramming the audio on the flyer with Max4Live's 'buffer shuffler'. Neat stuff.

Ive been working on a track with a tempo change from 105bpm glitch hop to 140 dubstep WAH WAH.

Im finding it quite tricky to get it to sound good and flow with the drums etc. Way im doing it at the moment is to have a big buildup, cut the sound very briefly and drop straight into the new bpm / new part of the tune.

Here's a free one from MadDecent

It's that new(ish) snoop riff and then speeds up into some BMore shit.

The track is under the pic of snoop.
