There's certain things in ableton that i do a heck of a lot but don't have hot keys for, was wondering if its possible to program macros?

One major thing is reverse clip.
Another few of them would be for slicing up the selected clip.

Also, would like to know why ableton sometimes decides that i can't stretch a clip size smaller than a certain amount (even though this amount is larger than the smallest grid size i am on), i always have to select that part and delete it instead. really annoying.

ask ill gates. he does some shit with bome's midi translator that basically lets you map anything to midi if you want, even the buttons that usually arn't mapable. I looked into it and basically you can set any pixel coordinate from your screen to be a mapping.

What do you mean by "slicing up the selected clip"? I know there's Ctrl-E for split and Ctrl-J for merge, but I guess you probably already knew those too...

yeah. know those. i mean create macros to do a bunch of comands in a row like: Ctrl-E + delete + Ctrl-E (over a bit) + delete + Ctrl-E (over a bit more) + delete ...

Or like in the video, a key command to reverse clip would be HUGE, I'm kinda surprised ableton doesn't have it.
Actually i think i might just switch to cubase, apparently key commands are better in cubase.

whoa, i thought i would be able to help here but actually this turned out to be a really helpful thread for me. i use a program called midiStroke for the mac that allows you to convert midi to keystrokes if anyone need a small app for that, but bomes is great for more complicated midi macro for sure.
thx
