hmm this looks interesting.

still trying to decide what to get after my mpd 32 was stolen.

I already have an apc40, but i want another mpd style controller too. Loved the 32, (was a little big for certain situations though) but i dunno about this one, might not have enough faders/banks etc.

there's so many variations of this controller, it's hard to keep track. launchpad for the win! throw some monome software in there.. you're golden. just played a set with it on friday, people went nuts :)

Has anyone figured out the difference between the mpd26 and the the 24 yet?

The only difference to my knowledge, is that its black, and they added the Note Repeat/Swing functions on there.. Nothing great.. I owned the MPD32 and never used the Note Repeat function. I actually did not like it, but I guess thats because I already own an MPC, and have something to compare it against.

Bumping thread for an answer to this question.

Are the only differences that the 26 has 2 less knobs, plus note repeat?

And my guess would be (knowing Akai's recent history) is you wont see support or drivers for the MPD24 any longer.

The 26 has two less knobs,

the 32 has 2 more faders and an on off button under each fader (which neither the 24 or 26 have).

between the 24 and the 26 there's also a difference in the pads. Apparently the 26 has the pads of the 32 which I've heard are better than the ones on the 24. I only have the MPD 26 and never played around with the others so Im not to sure about what the difference is but I've been having tons of fun with this new toy I definitely recommend it.

Possibly, I know I like the pads on my 16 more than the pads on my 32.

MPD32 looks sexy. I could do without the pads tho.

Btw I have an Akai MPC 2000XL SE-2 orange for sale
