anybody else digging the serato 2.1 fx?

never bothered with 2.0 fx, but there's some fun stuff in 2.1.

one knob filter for the win.

i'm hoping the ableton bridge will allow for post-processing through ableton. i'd take a rack/macro over an ultraknob any day.

Correct me if im wrong, but i think serato just conrols ableton transport. like not routing audio actually from Serato > Ableton backto> Serato... but rather Serato telling ableton how fast/slow to play a set of clips.

So my guess is that you could load the tracks in ableton and have the effects working within ableton, and just have serato to beatmatch things.

hrmm yeah, reading through the stuff on their site again isn't giving me much hope.

the ableton -> serato part is definitely just transport control.

i was more interested in the serato -> ableton side of things, but it looks like that just records each track as a clip, and all the fader/eq stuff as automation, leaving room for arranged effects in a mixtape. no mention of live processing though. :disgust:

Ive been using the bridge beta and it does allow you to use all your own ableton racks / fx, in serato. You import the entire ableton audio channel (with clips loaded) onto a serato deck and the fx and what not come along with it. When you adjust the pitch wheel on your turntable, it adjusts the re-pitch warp settings in ableton.

So can you load tracks from within serato?

Or do they need to be pre-warped files that you load in ableton.

I guess thats the practical issue here,
can we have just the all-mixing comfort of serato with the versatility of custom compile-able effects of ableton.

There is an "Ableton" track within Serato, which can be loaded onto either deck. When that track is loaded, all the Ableton fx/racks on that particular track are loaded as well. The track files on that particular channel don't need to be pre-warped w/ warp markers and what not, but you do need to have that track warp-enabled with re-pitch warp mode on. When you adjust the pitch on your turntable/cdj, it adjusts the re-pitch warp mode settings. If warping is turned off on the track, the pitch adjustment on your turntable/cdj ceases to adjust the track at all.
