I know alot of you on here are trigger finger users, so maybe someone can help me here. The usb port on my trigger finger is broken. It wiggles around and won't keep a connection. So i figure, i can just run it through my midi to usb cable (its an m-audio uno or something like that). But I can't get any imput in ableton now for it. Any suggestions? Do I have to install some software? I've lost most of my old discs that came with my hardware. Maybe use enigma? I have no idea what that program does. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is you need a driver for your midi to USB cable. Make sure that's working (maybe plug a device that you know has working midi output into it) and then see if the TF works. If it doesn't but you can get midi into Ableton if it's coming from other gear, see if there's a button combo or something that you have to use on the TF to activate its midi out port.

I'm thinking you might have to get at AC adapter for the TF and run the MIDI out to your soundcards MIDI In.

I ended up just soldering a new usb port to it, and now it works fine. Of course ableton suddenly realized that its a pirated copy and won't let me save now. One thing after another...

btw you should never let your cracked software talk to the internet.
