Empathy Recordings with the support of Junodownload are proud to announce the forthcoming release of EMPD023: Operation Restore.

On February 22 this year, The city of Christchurch, New Zealand was hit by a major earthquake for the second time in 6 months. The magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck in the middle of a busy weekday at a depth of barely 5km. It resulted in catastrophic damage to the city and extensive loss of life.

In light of this disaster, Empathy Recordings has teamed up exclusively with Junodownload to offer dance music lovers an effective way to support the recovery effort in Christchurch.

Empathy has assembled a team of talented musicians and Junodownload has stepped up to help Empathy provide 100% of the return from this album to the Red Cross Christchurch Earthquake Fund.

Many artists on this release have been personally affected by the earthquake and ALL have been struck by the magnitude of the disaster. Operation Restore will be featuring a host of New Zealand’s finest electronic artists across many genres including: Cern, Nanotek, Minuit, Funk‘n’Slo Cuts, Timmy Schumacher, Kyla, Greg Churchill, Borderline, Ollie Bassweight, Johnny Hooves, Black Planet, and many more. We’ll also be seeing international support in the form of William Breakspear (UK) and Kid Digital (Russia). Artwork has been donated by the indomitable Raymond Shaw.

This release will be available to buy exclusively from Junodownload will feature a specially reduced price.

Operation Restore will be available from Junodownload on Sunday 13 March.
