I just switched from an Apc 40 to and Ipad in ableton for my live performance and couldn't be more pleased but I've run into a problem. I can't figure out how to midi map side to side like the native key board mapping when you uses the arrows. Up and down are in the right area under the master stop all tracks but I can't seem to find right and left. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you would need MAX for live to do this.

You seem to have found the scene up and down buttons.. there isn't a side to side, that only really applies to devices that use the clip matrix and scripts, etc.. but you CAN use keystrokes to move your selected clip around, but you'll need bomes or something

I just Saw that IllGates made a pretty sweet Ipad Template. http://illgates.com/2011/07/ill-gates-ipad-dj-template/ Hopefully this helps.

this is possible using the 'mackie control protocol' method, basically set your controller as input in the control surface panel, set to 'mackie control', and send midi notes according to the following chart...

the other thing to do (if all you want to do is send 'cursor left' / note 98 and 'cursor right' / note 99 messages ), is to use an iac bus loop, with the iac input set as the mackiecontrol input), then pipe your midi controller (set to track) into a live track, with a rack set to filter only the notes you want to send to the mackie control, and then set that tracks output to the iac. That lets you use the rest of the controller as you like...
