Yeah, it's the first piece of music tech to be funded on Kickstarter. Looks sweet indeed. I've got the KMI Softstep and it's pretty sick. Their editor was overly complex when first released, but I think they've improved it now. I do some training for them, so KMI will be sending me out a demo using as soon as they're in production. I'll post a full video review when I get it. Cheers!

Deadline is Jan 9th. I think you get one in march sometime. not sure what the retail release date is, probably a month or two later.

You have to love that when something so innovative springs up, you can clearly see the impact it is having by the amount of support it gets in its funding stage... Over funded by over x4 times they wanted is EPIC

Not actually the first piece of music tech on kickstarter--I got one of these a few months ago: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/790 ... -synth-kit. Have yet to build it though, since I only got the PCB version and haven't gotten around to buying the rest of the parts. This does seem like the first example of an established tech company (albeit a small one) using this to test what will become a regular market product. And it looks pretty sweet indeed...

Oh, nice one. Great to see music startups with an effective way of getting exposure and funding at the same time. Good on ya for supporting them.

i am interested in how sensitive those pads are. The thing looks boss, but when the guys giving the demo's at NAMM we're showing off the pads, they looked like they had to press down rather hard. Couldn't find a demo video anywhere where people caress the pads and they react. We shall see.....
