anyone have some good tips on how to make loops and cue points on the fly? i know you can set up loops before mixing, but that isn't too practical for me. i usually mix with a buddy who uses a cdj and i use an apc40 so it would be pretty convenient if i could manipulate tracks better while mixing...

Welllllll... So you will probably need to be doing warping, settings loops markers, changing clip tempo (NOT your master tempo... tempo on the warp marker you put on your clip... typically people set only one right at the beginning of the track or beat). But you want this all to be not heard by your audience. So you will want to create a "processing" track that is only outputting to your "cue" channel (headphones). You can then drag whatever you have processed to your "Deck A" and "Deck B" tracks which you will use for mixing (which you can also send to cue for mixing, as needed).

Your soundcard will need 2 stereo outputs to do this - one for the "master" output and one for the "cue".

I think this should get you where you want to be... let me know if not.
