If you have not heard of iLL GATES then you must have been under a rock somewhere in Nubia perhaps...

iill.Gates is a Toronto-based composer, performer and educator. Over the past 15 years, he has established a global fanbase and a reputation as one of the most dynamic electronic music artists around. He regularly tours across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Gates has headlined at such festivals as Burning Man, Shambala, the World Electronic Music Festival and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

His first full-length release, Autopirate (Muti Music, 2008), reached #1 on many esteemed charts; and continues to sell strongly. Many of his contemporaries cite Gates (aka The Phat Conductor) as a key artistic influence and inspiration in their music. While on tour, Gates frequently teaches workshops to grateful and attentive audiences, in which he shares his highly effective approach to producing quality finished music as well as insights into the mentality and strategies necessary to succeed in the music business.

Recent highlights from his travels & adventures include:

> Having drinks with his namesake, Bill Gates; while playing a private party for Microsoft at the Sundance Film Festival (2010)

NiT GriT is the devious machination of 23 year old Bay Area native, Danny Beall. A relative newcomer to the scene, Dan has rapidly gained a substantial following in the 8 months since the inception of this project. Influenced by genres such as IDM, D&B, Glitch, and Breakcore, Dan has spent the past 4 years producing and experimenting under several different monikers. His latest undertaking dissects elements from dubstep, glitch, and grime, and cauterizes them together in the most visceral and precise manner possible.

BODIE: the dubstep alias of veteran Jungle/DNB Producer-DJ Mainframe, was created in 2009. His deep bass, hip hop influenced drum work, and colorful use of ghetto whistles have labeled his dubstep as “G step”. It comes as no surprise that the music being made is so full and smooth, Bodie is a native West Coast resident, based in Los Angeles, and has been making Drum N Bass music since 2000.

In the ten years Bodie has been known to the scene as an innovative junglist, Mainframe, his persona has had five vinyl releases from labels that include Jungle Riddim, Foul Play and X13 Recordings.
Mainframe’s mental reign was powerful, taking the Producer-DJ on three European tours, numerous venues all over the country including urbane spots like Miami, New York City, and San Francisco.

The alias Bodie may be built over a well traveled professional, but it is his West Coast base that keeps the ideas floating fresh. With a kindred connection to the So Cal Drum N Bass scene, inspiration is never hard to find. Bodie can frequently be found collaborating with fellow California based DJ, IRay, aka IDro. 40z n 9z, their most recent project, makes regular appearances on his weekly aired radio show, “Tha Armory” found on DnBRadio.com and have a release out through Betamorph Recordings on the Dubsteppers for Haiti 3 album.

Solo, Bodie has been recognized by labels that include Section 8 Recordings, Subdepth Recordings UK, Betamorph Recordings, Serious War Recordings, Collie Connect Recordings, and Jungle Riddim’s Department of Dub, with more projects and releases on the
horizon.

Johnny 5: IS EXCITED to be returning to Ashland!! You may remember when he came through a few months back with Megalodon to shake the walls of the IPUB.. He's got a new arsenal of tunes saved just for Ashland so get ready!!!!

Although you might not recognize the face behind the layers of wobbling bass, crunchy drums, and hypnotic melodies, it's safe to say that Johnny5 is no stranger to the spotlight. An Oakland, CA resident, by way of Chicago, Johnny cut his teeth as an MC and hip-hop producer in both cities, sharing stages with the likes of independent legends Typical Cats as well as major acts including Raekwon and Devin the Dude.

Upon moving to Oakland in 2005, Johnny5 began to take in the diverse, quickly evolving sounds pulsating throughout the Northern California music scene. Already having an extensive background in hip-hop, reggae, and electronic music, it was only natural that Johnny would embrace the dubstep genre and begin to cultivate his own sound, taking elements from each of these musical cultures. After a series of mixes that remained vastly unheard, the world began to take notice after his first official release, "Johnny 5 Alive."

Armed with his trusty APC 40, vast collection of rare and exclusive tracks, and uncanny ability to read a crowd's mood, Number 5 is ready to spread his unique blend of filthy bass music styles to dance floors and festivals around the West Coast and worldwide!
