So ive always been a DnB DJ (Djing 7 years now), Ive always wanted a digital set up though and listening to Glitch Hopish type tracks has made me want to pursue that set up even more =D.

That said. What kind of music were you guys mixing before you started spinning glitch hop?

I used to spin electro & nu-disco/funky house. Started dj'ing last january, discovered dub/glitch around that time as well and then when my dj partner moved back to austin i stoped gigging and started concentrating on production.

funk/bangin/electro House and breaks but mostly house ,then around 06 i was introduced to bassnectar which soon lead me to dubstep and ever since then i've been djing both, and djing those two genres ultimatley lead me to incorparate other genres in my set like dancehall, hip hop, midtempo breaks, and DnB.

Chronologically:

Jungle > IDM > Hip-Hop > Jungle > Hip-Hop > Funk/Soul > Baltimore Club > Electro House > Hip-Hop > Dubstep > Errrthing Bass

This is more or less my last decade.

I've been a radio DJ (college radio) for like 4 years. It's always been downtempo, hip hop, deep house, nu-jazz for me.

Kai, I actually did have NRG records years and years ago. I ended up selling them to buy my first set of dnb with. the only styles I haven't done at all are Breakcore & Happy Hardcore.

Nobody likes Happy Hardcore :D Me neither. Anyway, that is quite amazing experience. But, could you tell me what NRG is? I haven't heard of it yet..

NRG was a style of hard house that came out in the late 90's with giant synth leads. it was usually accompanied by shitty vocals. i believe the actual start of it was somewhere in the early 90's. Seriously though, I'm not all that proud of playing this music.

Started with DnB, then switched up to breaks for a while, then to midtempo, glitch hop, and dubstep.

Acid.

Acid breaks, Acid techno, Acid house, Acidcore

The squealchy bass music of acid naturally led to my bass tastes now. Being an acid connoisseur, I still feel the squealch and edge of the bass in Glitch is still too tame/digital sounding.

Started in 98...

Chigago House / Techno > Jungle / DnB > Deep House / Breaks > Jungle / DnB / Deep House / Breaks / 2 Step > Jungle / DnB > Jungle / DnB / Electro > Jungle / DnB / Dubstep > Dubstep > Dubstep / Skweee > Dubstep / Glitch / Skweee / Experimental Hip Hop

Bout to add Juke to that list when I get paid, and been thinking about a new DnB / Jungle mix soon too...
